FincoEnergies ads inland waterway shipping to self-service platform Decarb Desk®

Rotterdam, 26 November 2025 - Sustainable fuels and decarbonisation solutions provider FincoEnergies announces a major upgrade to its Decarb Desk® platform book-and-claim registry, enabling cargo owners and freight forwarders to use GoodShipping carbon insets to reduce emissions of goods shipped via inland waterways. With this expansion, Decarb Desk® users can now reduce their freight emissions shipped via all major transport modalities through a single integrated interface.

This modality addition strengthens FincoEnergies’ position as a supplier of seamless and holistic climate‑action and carbon reduction toolsets for cargo owners, freight forwarders, carriers and shipping companies dealing with (partial) outsourced logistics.

Closing the emissions-accounting gap

Until now, the inland waterway shipping sector lacked a recognised book-and-claim solution to reduce Scope 3 emissions. By adding this new modality, CO₂e emissions generated on inland waterway trade lanes can now be reduced and allocated in the Decarb Desk®, without dependency on geographical location and physical biofuel infrastructure. This gives sustainability teams greater flexibility and ensures inland waterway insets can be reported under recognised carbon-accounting frameworks within one streamlined system and book-and-claim registry.
